Known for his unfailing smile and eternally optimistic attitude, Jon Flanagan has been a cornerstone of the Moncton music scene for more than two decades.
Over the last number of years, he has brought his dynamic presence to Long & McQuade, where he has served as an in-demand and much beloved drum instructor for students of all ages.
Earlier this year, Jonny received a devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer and is currently off work for the foreseeable future while he undergoes the necessary treatment. To help offset the significant financial burden such an illness can impose, some of Jonny’s good friends, and some of his favourite bands, have put together Smile For Jonny, a one-night benefit concert featuring performances from Moncton bands The Motorleague, The Monoxides, Diner Drugs, The Nuclear, Zero Zero UFO and East End Rivals. Headlining the event will be Jonny’s long-time band, and East Coast Music Award winners, Iron Giant.
Join us for Smile for Jonny, taking place Saturday June 1 at Casino New Brunswick.
Proceeds from the event will help Jonny weather the financial challenges in the years ahead. Thank you for your support!
